Attempt to foil Royal Conspiracy

Kathmandu: Political parties have vowed to foil the entire future consequences likely to arise after Feb 1 takeover. Leaders of the parties have expressed to be prepared to fight against the monopoly of the King.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary of CPN (UML) said ‘we will defeat the totalitarian and active monarchy in near future’. He also said there is no alternative other than to move the present agitation towards republican state. Adding further, he said ‘we should all be careful not to get trapped in Kings wavy ambitions’.

Similarly Hridesh Tripathi,General Secretary of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) said king is in dilemma after the Maoist announced unilateral cease fire. Warning the Kings motive, he said King is looking for a right opportunity and urge all democratic factors to unite and demonstrate peacefully.

Likewise Khem Raj Pandit, Vice General Secretary of Rastriya Prajatantra Party said we abide by the principles of democracy and our support will be for political parties

Countrywide Protest launched

Kathmandu: Demanding an end to totalitarian government of king, the seven agitating parties on Tuesday called a nation wide protest. In a demonstration scores of people had sustained injuries while more than thousands had been detained.

A report from Dailekh said more than four dozens had been taken into custody for defying the prohibitory areas as imposed by the local administration. Likewise people of Gorkha demonstrated against the oppressive act of Royal Government by closing the district headquarter.

Similarly another city in the east, Rajbiraj became tense after police intervened in the rallies and arrested political activists. Latter Rajbiraj was shut down for some time to mark the solidarity to protest against the arrest. Likewise rallies were held in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Syangja, Nepalgunj and other parts of the country.

Strong opposition to Labors law

Kathmandu: Various labor organization have condemned the government act to amendment the labor law.
According to labor related organizations, this amendment will put a risk to employment opportunity and debar the rights of thousands of labors. In move various labor organizations have demonstrated against the government and they have vowed to close down the industries if the latter doesn’t take away the proclamation. Similarly, they have written to Chairman of council of ministers warning he will be responsible if situation deteriorates.

Monarchy a Burden: Nepal

Janakpur: Addressing an internal interaction program of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anadidevi), General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal said King is on mode to annul the constitution after Dashain.

“King has been waiting for the right moment to disable the constitution”, he said. Adding further he urged all political parties to be prepared to slash the conspiracies of the king. Concluding he said, “Monarchy and Democracy can not abide by each other and time has come for people to select one”.

Youth for Republican state

Kathmandu: Democratic National Youth Federation has urged not to pay tax to Kings Government.
In a national meeting held in Pokhara, Gokarna Bista, President of the Organisation said, “We request all the bodies not to pay tax to the present unconstitutional government”. The event was inaugurated by Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party (UML). Similarly training was disseminated by senior leaders of the CPN (UML) to youth leaders.

Likewise, Pokhara meet decided to adopt main theme as “Youth for Republican State”.
National meeting of the youth ended with decision to hold a National Assembly in Biratnagar between Feb. 18-20.

King receives challenge from Nuwakot and Kirtipur

Kathmandu: Not even a week has passed since the King sponsored a crowd to his procession at Lalitpur, citizens of Nuwakot and Kirtipur have challenged the King with derogatory remarks.

Addressing a huge crowd at Bidur Municipality organized by Federation of Neplasese Journalist on Tuesday various human rights leaders, political activists and leading Journalists said the monarchy should be other thrown forever.
Likewise on Monday in historic Kirtipur thousands took onto streets with slogans “Peoples Movement for Peace and Republic”. The self guided crowd also stated the country had taken a road to republic.

Crisis of Petroleum products likely

Kathmandu: At a time when donor countries and bilateral agencies are reluctant to help the government, the government suffers yet another puff of distrust from banks and financial institutions within the country.

According to news, financial institutions across the country have refused to provide loan to the government in order to pay the debt of Nepal Oil Cooperation which has swelled to nearly two billion. Nepal Oil Cooperation (NOC) is the sole distributor of petroleum products across the country and it buys the petroleum products from Indian Oil. So far it has paid only 52 million to Indian Oil. This illustrates the deteriorating financial situation of the country.

One week Ultimatum

Kathmandu: Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ) has charged Royal Government of indiscriminately classifying the newspaper and has given one week ultimate to correct the act.

Stating further FNJ has said this is the move to confuse the journalist of Nepal and play a foul game. FNJ has blamed the leaders of Press Council Nepal with regard to the present situation, an auxiliary body of His Majesty’s Government.

Twenty six Maoist killed

Kathmandu: Maoist claimed the Royal Nepal Army has so far killed 26 of its cadre after the latter declared unilateral truce.

Stating the place and number, the party said the army shot dead six of its cadre in Palpa, and four in Dailekh & Gorkha. Likewise rests of cadres were killed in different districts and significant number of arrest was made.
In Palpa, youth wanting to join the Royal Nepal Army was shot dead by Army itself.

Disregard to hearing

Kathmandu: Trial on Dan Bahadur shahi, Home Minister of Kings Government has been postponed for indefinite period. His eight trails also went unheard.

Similarly, hearing of the case with regard to Tulsi Giri, Vice Chairman of Council of Ministers was on Wednesday. Giri had questioned the capacity of judiciary’s and had blamed them swinging along with the political parties. Giri and Shahi were prominent figures during Panchyat regime.
